Reports to the Head of Internat Audit

JOB PURPOSE

The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for leading and conducting audit engagements based on the annual risk-based audit plan and draft the reports with the findings identified during the audit. The Internal Audit Manager will report to the Head of Internal Audit and ensure adherence to the approved audit methodology standards and procedures and institute of Internal Auditors’ Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. Internal Audit Manager will primarily be responsible for delivering audit engagements in Botswana and may be required to perform cross border audits in any of the other geographies where First Capital Bank Croup operates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the organization risk assessment and development of the annual audit plan.
• Lead and conducts the execution of individual audits defined in the audit plan ensuring the highest level of service quality and client satisfaction.
• Performs preliminary planning for the audit engagements and establishes direction for audits, provides leadership to assigned auditors, manage engagements to quality
• outcomes, while meeting established time budget.
• Performs audit work, including plan preparation, work papers, findings, and verifies
• accuracy and completeness of work assigned to internal auditors.
• Discuss and agree on audit findings with auditees as part of the audit engagements.
• Draft Internal Audit reports ensuring the reports are clear, concise, identify root causes with practical solutions, and ultimately provide value to management
• Act on behalf of the Head of Audit as and when required, which may require engaging
• Audit Committee members and senior management to provide updates of Internal Audit’s ongoing monitoring activities and emerging risks and/or exposures, in line with risk management and internal control best practices.
• Manage the process to track, follow-up. and ultimately close all open audit issues.
• Ensure that internal Audit is performing in accordance with established professional standards and Key Performance Indicators and remain abreast of emerging trends and best practices that can be incorporated into the function.

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance or related relevant field

Minimum S years’ experience in auditing or finance roles; experience in a Big 4 Audit firm

will be an added advantage.
