Barminco Mining Services Botswana has successfully signed a mining services agreement with Khoemacau Copper Mining for the provision of mining services at the Zone 5 underground copper mine in Botswana. Zone 5 is located near Maun in the north west of Botswana In a highly prospective area for future underground mines known as the Kalahari copper belt

LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

This purpose of this position is to organise transportation and customs clearance activities, including a collection of goods and equipment from suppliers, managing Information accrued from freight forwarders and clearing agents, and arranging for services as necessary.

Key Responsibilities/ Requirements of the Position;

• Coordinate and track the movement of goods from point of origin to destination.
• Manage physical and electronic shipping files.
• Create and maintain accurate records of shipments in Pronto system filing corresponding commercial documentation.
• Oversee customs clearance activities ensuring the efficiency Is maintained throughout the process.
• Monitor the performance of the clearing agents and transporters.
• Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low.
• Produce commercial documents required for shipping goods across the border.
• Maintain quality throughout the logistic processes.
• Communicate with other departments providing the information as required.
• Produce monthly performance reports and ad-hoc reporting as directed by management
• High level of computer literacy with excellent MS Excel and MS Outlook skills
• Extensive knowledge of international shipping process and custom clearance activities
• Understanding of transportation limitations and regulations

Required Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience in mining or construction is preferable.
• Experience working for a global freight forwarding company.
• Experience using Pronto system or other ERP software
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain and Procurement
• CIPS qualification will be desirable
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in coordinating logistics both internationally and locally
