INTERNET PROTOCOL SERVICES ENGINEER – BTC

Reporting to the Internet Protocol Services Operations Manager, the incumbent will be required to design, implement. operate and maintain internet Protocol, Data and Packet Switch core networks and network services comprising of but not limited to ONS, E-MAILS, METRO-E APNS, ADSL, VPNs, EOC, LEASED LINES, FRAME RELAYS and BROADBAND

You will review and approve technicians’ network architecture, change recommendations and analyse, interpret and provide solutions to logs and alerts on the IP, Data and Packet-switched networks

The candidate will investigate, analyse, mitigate and prevent trouble tickets on the IP, Data and Packet Switch networks and services You will also be required to recommend and implement optimum QoS parameters for the IP. Data and Packet Switch networks This position requires one to maintain up-to-date knowledge of IP. Data and Packet switch core networks technologies and trends thereof

The ideal candidate should have a Degree in Telecommunications or equivalent qualification supported by 5 years’ experience in the IP Networks sphere and specialized training in telecommunications. The candidate should be ERB compliant and have a Cisco Certified Network Professional or equivalent A membership of a professional association and a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert Certification will be an added advantage
