MAINTENANCE MANAGER

The successful candidates should have the following attributes:

• Costing, cost control and focused on efficient delivery of projects

Key areas of Responsibility:

The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties, such as. but not limited to:

• Ensuring all activities are performed with a full commitment to health, safety, environmental and community (MSEC) standards and procedures.
• Mentoring and training the fleet maintenance team to provide a safe and efficient work environment
• Developing and managing maintenance strategy in order to achieve operational objectives, particularly, maintaining high equipment availability and reliability
• Determining Preventive & Corrective Maintenance requirements of the mobile equipment fleet
• identifying, implementing and reviewing equipment strategies, including quality control procedures to ensure that equipment is maintained in a reliable state.
• Preparing longer-term training program to keep all mechanical maintenance personnel up-to-date in technical upgrades &/or Improvements to maintenance techniques.
• Ensuring continuous Improvement in the setup of the mobile equipment maintenance organization, required workshop tools, work procedures and Inventory spare parts & consumables.
• Budgeting preparation and controlling during the execution of repair and maintenance activities
• Driving the team in order to Improve equipment performance at the lowest possible cost
• Training and Developing the team.

Required Technical Skills, Training & Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• 10-IS years’ experience in an HME workshop environment, with at least 5 years at Management level
• Good communication skills in English:
• Must have experience with KOMATSU, CATERPILLAR and LIEBHERR dump trucks. Excavators. Front End loaders Dozers and Graders. Experience on Atlas Copco /Sandvik Drill Rigs, will be added advantage.
• Must have experience working m a contract mining environment.
