AMBULANCE AND FIRE ENGINE DRIVERS X6 – KHOEMACAU COPPER MINING

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

You will be required to operate fire engine or Tire truck for firefighting.operations in the mine site in case of fire emergencies as well as transport first responder firefighters, site Nurses and emergency management teams to fire and medical emergencies scenes as would be required You will also provide a focused timely response, delivery of care, and safe transport for emergency and nonemergency situations in a safe and professional environment, utilizing enhanced skills and regulated best practice when required to do so, adhering at all times to the policies and standards inherent within Khoemacau Copper Mining.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive the Ambulance and Fire Engines to respond to fire and medical emergency calls in order to prevent and/or minimize loss of life, property or injury
• Drive mine medically equipped and fire fighting vehicles to transport patients to treatment facilities, such as hospitals form the incident scenes or during referrals as well as firefighters and firefighting equipment to incident scenes in a timely manner
• Adhere to the national and international ambulance regulations and emergency services driving regulations that emergency response drivers must follow as would be required
• Treat and transport emergency and urgent cases in accordance with Khoemacau Copper Mining Emergency Response Management Plan guidelines and protocols
• Undertake emergency driving duties on all types of vehicles operated by the Khoemacau Copper Mining, as appropriately qualified, authorized and licensed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

• Botswana General Secondary School Leaving Examinations (Form 5)
• Possession of paramedic first responder’s certification an added advantage
• Five years proven record of driving experience
• A valid class B driver’s license
• Defensive and off-road driving experience is an added advantage
• Class C1 license is also an added advantage
• Oral and written communication skills
• You should be able to use specialized apparatus that are used to provide hazardous materials mitigation and technical rescue
