PROGRAMME DIRECTOR

QUALIFICATIONS

The Program Director will provide oversight and technical support to improve and monitor programs in the organization. The Programme Director will use data to drive programs. As part of SSI’s Senior Leadership Team, the Programme Director plays a critical role in providing strategic and tactical direction for the organization. A focus of the position is to nurture relationships with stakeholders and partners such as government, donors, other NGOs and community members

• A minimum of a Masters Degree, in the area of youth, international development, social work, education, public health or related field
• Extensive knowledge of HIV landscape in Botswana and in depth knowledge of youth empowerment, OVC, gender and family strengthening issues
• Knowledge of data use to create and adapt programming
• At least 4 years in a program management position
• Advanced facilitation skills required
• Behaviour change communications background a plus
• Technical skills in project design, development, implementation and monitoring and evaluation
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to deliver professional presentations and represent the organization
• Ability to create high level professional reports and organizational based knowledge products
• Demonstrated success with proposal writing and resource mobilization
• Highly skilled professional with ability to deliver quality work under pressure
• Setswana speaking preferable
• Ability to coordinate complex activities, meet deadlines and exercise sound judgement
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage, motivate and build capacity of teams
• Ability to source, compile and integrate research data for the development and evidenced based programming
