CODED WELDER – BOTSWANA POWER CORPORATION

Job Purpose

​To fabricate and weld various metal structures and high-pressure vessels in accordance with set specifications and safety standards in order to meet the operational plant requirements.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities

​

Marks out, fabricates and welds high-pressure pipes and vessels from drawings in accordance with standards and specifications.

Observes pressure tests and applies remedial action where necessary.

Prepares drawings for minor metal construction work for approval by the Supervisor.

Repairs metal works and manufactured equipment on the plant.

Carries out periodic inspections of fabrication workshop equipment and tools to make sure that defects are corrected.

Carries out on the job training.

Qualifications

​Recognised National Craft Certificate in Welding/Boiler Making and certification in coded welding​​
