Chief Metallurgist

Globe 24-7 is looking on behalf of one of its clients for a Chief Metallurgist to lead the early stages and commissioning of this clent’s flagship copper project in Africa.

The Company

The company owns 100% of this High Grade Copper project and has a solid leadership team behind. The project is fully permitted and has got potential for future expansions.

The Role

• Process design experience: developing flowsheets, mass balances, equipment sizing and selection, and

process design criteria for concentrator plant

• Manage the daily activities in the laboratory

• Develop, implement and maintain safe work procedures and promote safety, health and environmental awareness.

• Develop continuous improvement targets for the function and drive and measure achievement of these targets.

• Ensure the development and maintenance of up to date job procedures for all tasks performed within the team.

• Ensure effective communication of work and issues/conditions status takes place with delegate prior to departure from site

• Develop continuous improvement targets for the function and drive and measure achievement of these targets

• Organise the work of the team to ensure all functions and services are provided efficiently, while providing rewarding work, with clear accountabilities and authorities

• Improve financial return of concentrate production through improvements in controls for marketing (concentrate quality and recoveries) and cost control strategies

• Ensure accurate reporting of production activities

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Minerals Processing Engineering/Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering

• At least 10 years’ of demonstrated experience in Mining Concentrator plants

• Proven examples of Process design experience, specially of Concentrator plants
