Executive Secretary (x2 Positions) – Botswana Prison Service

VACANCY CIRCULAR No. 1 OF 2020

Applications are invited from highly motivated and well experienced Botswana citizens to fill the above vacant posts of Executive Secretary tenable at Botswana Prison Service Headquarters (Gaborone).

SALARY: D4 (P208 560 – 229 884) per annum
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum

QUALIFICATIONS
• Candidates must have National Diploma in Secretarial Studies or a Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies

EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience of which two (2) years must have been served as a Senior Personal Secretary at C1 salary scale in Government or equivalent/comparative level in Parastatal or Private Organization.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide secretarial and administrative services to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Prisons.

DUTIES
• Maintains the diary, schedules appointments and meetings.
• Plans, organizes and maintains office library of reference books, magazines, newspapers, journals, manuals and other related material for the Prison Service.
• Maintains Confidential files, correspondences and other related materials.
• Researches, collates and sum information as needed by the supervisor.
• Handles and transmits telephone calls for the supervisor.
• Undertakes any other related duties as directed by the management.

REQUIREMENTS
• Botswana citizens in possession of a valid National Identity Card (Omang).
• No adverse criminal record.
