Country Manager: Botswana

Permanent Position at the Bigen Botswana Office :

Purpose of the Role :

To position Bigen Global Botswana Ltd [BGBL] as a local infrastructure development entity, build sustainable business network and penetrate growth nodes in regions in Botswana and coordinate with discipline leads to secure and implement projects.

Qualificationsand Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering, with an MBA or Master in Economics/Finance is preferred;
• Candidate must be a registered professional with at least ten (10) years post-registration experience;
• Minimum of 5-10 years’ within a Senior Management and Leadership rde:
• Experience with Business Development position across different African countries.
• Experience within the public and private sector;
• Familiarity with investment management including due diligence, deal originating and structuring preferably with experience m one or more of the energy, health, transport, water and sanitation and real estate sectors;
• Excellent financial modelling capabilities and the ability to support multiple projects with a keen attention to detail:
• Demonstrated negotiation and transaction documentation management skills;
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form, ability to present to large groups and executive-level audiences and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite;
• Self-motivated, self-directed with a positive attitude, strong interpersonal, problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills;
• Strong work ethic appropriate for a small, fast-paced, team-oriented organization,
• Applicant must be a Motswana (Botswana Citizen)

Duties and responsibilities:

• Undertake various tasks related to role of the Country Manager including business development partnerships, lead responses to bids, seek to enhance Bigen’s brand amongst potential strategic partners, build positive client and market perceptions of the Bigen offering of an integrated infrastructure development solution in Botswana and the rest of the African continent;
• Review market opportunities; assess strengths and weaknesses of investments and concessionary opportunities and identifies opportunities aligned to Bigen investment mandate and priorities;
• Source investment opportunities, with a specific focus on infrastructure finance sectors such as real estate, energy, health, transport, water and sanitation, located in Sub-Saharan Africa;
• Conduct due diligence on investment opportunities either as lead or as second, to gather further information and undertake risk assessments, including managing deliverables of technical consultants, if accompanying the due diligence team:
• Prepare and analyse the financial model and financial statements, prepare and defend investment memorandums to the Investment Committee;
• Negotiate transaction terms and review transaction documents;
• Monitor and manage a portfolio of investments, including preparation of financial and social performance reports on portfolio companies.

Negotiable and based on the candidate’s qualifications and years of relevant experience
