An opportunity exists for an experienced Financial Controller to take responsibility for the financial management and related functions of the largest independent distributor of automotive, corrosion protection, industrial and wood-finish coatings business in Botswana.

Location: GABORONE

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Preparation of monthly management accounts and divisional reporting
2. Sales analysis and monitoring of product Margins.
3. Processing all journals after reviewing the accounts
4. Preparation of annual budgets and budget variance analysis
5. Preparation of company cashflow forecasts and management of company funds.
6. Managing annual audits, preparation and review of Annual Financial Statements.
7. Prepare month end financial report and discuss with management/Board
8. Review of payment reconciliations, processing payments on internet banking authorising payments.
9. Review of petty cash schedules and capturing the details.
10. Review of credit notes
11. Managing the debtor’s collections and liaising with companies that do Debt Collection and Debt Insurance.
12. Negotiating on behalf of the company with banks, insurance companies and other third parties.
13. Processing payroll.
14. IT queries & updates
15. Monitoring the preparation and submission of monthly tax returns as well as managing tax compliance

Key requirements

• Relevant Accounts qualification or equivalent
• CA qualification
• Member of BICA
• At least 5 years post qualification experience
• Solid experience in all aspects of financial reporting and management, including financial disciplines, systems, controls, compliance, governance, reporting, planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, technical accounting issues, taxation, foreign exchange, IT and audit management as well as strategic functions.
• Excellent communication and people management skills is essential as this will be a management position.
