INTERMEDIATE/SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER – BERGSTAN AFRICA

BERGSTAN AFRICA is looking for a INTERMEDIATE/SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER.

This opportunity will be of interest to an ERB Registered and Practicing, Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer with a minimum of 8-10 years relevant post-graduate experience. Reporting to the Structural Division Head and/or Project Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for all design aspects of structural and civil projects including high rise buildings, liquid retaining structures, reinforced and pre-stressed concrete; steel structures; masonry, timber and other specialist materials. Experience with various structural analysis and design software is essential; with 3D Modelling (REVIT) an advantage.

As a Professional Engineer, you should be an independent operator and natural problem solver with excellent understanding of structural engineering first principles. Strong leadership skills will be required to manage your own projects from concept to construction and to lead a design and drafting team through all phases of a project. Your comprehensive knowledge of local and international Standards; outstanding communication and organisational skills; as well as an inquisitive, learning-orientated outlook will enable success in this challenging environment.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of structural and civil engineers and technicians working with clients, contractors and architects; and should have a proven ability to resolve conflict and deliver to deadlines. The candidate will be expected to maintain quality and ISO standards and procedures.
