Finance Manager

The position

Reporting to the Managing Director, we are looking for an experienced and motivated professional who will be responsible for the Financial and Commercial functions for our group of Media and Property companies. This role will be based in Gaborone.

Position requirements

This is a pivotal role that requires a dynamic and significantly experienced individual to build and manage an effective and efficient Financial and Commercial function of the group of companies. This role requires expertise in the planning, implementation and oversight of the group of companies’ Financial and Commercial processes, systems, procedures and daily activities. The successful candicate must have at least five [5) years’ experience gained from working in a professional services firm. It is a prerequisite that applicants be qualified Chartered Accountants from recognised and reputed institutions.

Principal responsibilities will include

• Responsibility for all Financial and Commercial functions, including but not limited to financial and management reporting, audits budgets, forecast cash flow management, commercial functions and procurement;
• Oversee statutory compliance including timely and accurate submission of audited financial statements and tax returns;
• Formulate short, medium and long-term functional strategies based on the overall business and corporate strategy and objectives;

• Implement and oversee effective risk management of the companies;
• Develop, implement and ensure adherence of divisional business and operational standards, policies and procedures, systems and processes;
• Excellent leadership, communication and management skills to ensure that all business and operational objectives are met;
• Effective recruitment and development of the Financial and Commercial team; and
• Continuous interaction with the external auditors.
