Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following: – i)Ensure that proper specimen receipt procedures have been adhered to and that requested tests are properly logged into the laboratory information management system ii)Maintain accurate complete records of specimens received, processed, and stored. iii)Offer patient education counselling and advisory services. iv)Operate and perform daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment as per the manufacturer’s instructions and or recommendations. v)Ensure that equipment under care is calibrated and serviced as per standard requirements. vi)Prepare specimens for processing and distribute to relevant laboratory sections. vii)Maintain conducive environmental conditions for activities undertaken. viii)Prepare and package samples for referral purposes. ix)Perform and validate internal quality control and external quality assurance procedures as required. x)Analyze IQC and EQA results and institute corrective action where necessary. xi)Prepare and revise SOPs as may be required in documenting the Quality Management System. xii)Validate new and improved methods and procedures. xiiiEnsure adherence to safety and infection control procedures. |

Requirements |
Minimum Job Requirements
Education i)A Degree/Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or any equivalent qualification. ii)Candidate should be registered with Botswana Health Professional Council. Experience i)At least 3 years experience in a similar position within a healthcare environment. ii)Must be willing to work shifts including weekends and public holidays |
