VACANCY:                TEMPORARY SCIENTIFIC OFFICERS/TECHNICAL OFFICERS X 18

Applications are invited from highly motivated and suitably qualified Botswana citizens for the positions of Temporary Scientific Officers/Technical Officers for five (5) months extendable period tenable in various extension areas of Central Distnct:(Shakwe, Makwate, Kalamare, Robelela, Tsetsebjwe, Mogome, Motalatau, Nata, Sepako, Maitengwe, Mukubilo, Kedia, Xhumu, Ratholo, Mabesekwa and Mogome)

SALARY:                   C4/C3 (84.972.00 -122,916.00 per annum)

LEAVE:                     25 working days per annum

BENEFITS Severance payable at the end of contract

QUALIFICATION

Applicants must have Diploma or Degree m Animal Health/Ammai Science

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide frontline extension service in implementation of the Department of Veterinary Services core mandate

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Undertake livestock disease surveillance, prepare and submit samples to Botswana National Veterinary Laboratory for testing
• Keep all records of activities in the extension area
• Implement BAITS regulations, undertaking Audits to ensure compliance
• Registration of communal Holdings and ensure market compliance
• Attend clinical cases and advise farmers on Animal health and welfare matters
• Undertakes any related duties as may be assigned by management to meet the exigencies of the service
