JOB ADVERT: COMPANY DRIVER

We are looking for a reliable Company Driver to assist the Company with all transport-related duties.
The Company Driver’s responsibilities include delivering goods, dropping and picking up staff, collecting various packages, and maintaining a travel log to record work hours, travel-time and locations travelled to, verifying loads to invoices.
You should also be able to perform routine checks on the company vehicle.
In order to be considered for the job the applicant should be holding a valid PRDP license. Furthermore, you should ensure that all transportation duties are carried out in a timely manner.
Ultimately, a top-performing Company Driver should be able to ensure that addresses and other transportation details are correct before undertaking any pick-up or drop-off duties.

Duties:

Effectively transport and deliver bread to the various primary schools around Francistown;
Inspect the vehicles for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit a written report on the condition of the vehicles at the end of the tour of duty;
Check invoices to determine the nature of load and verify for accuracy;
Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather. Must be able to drive in all types of weather and conditions;
Report all accidents and incidents involving drivers or company equipment;
Promptly report any delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions or other emergencies, or in the event of irregularities relating to pickup or delivery of goods;
Maintain records required for compliance with the regulations in Botswana (the regulations”) including driver’s record of duty status, mileage records, and other records required by law; and
Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with the regulations for the safe operations of a commercial motor vehicle.

Accountabilities:

Safe and legal operation of a commercial motor vehicle;
Safe and timely transportation of goods from origin to destination;
Operate controls for loading unloading of products;
Proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork related to vehicle operation and freight movements;
Professional representation of the company through responsible driving and appearance;
Employees must comply with all customers safety and delivery requirements; and
Follow the Company’s safety regulations for entering the production room, and ensuring the correct safety and protective clothing is worn at all times.

Other Responsibilities

From time to time the Driver will be expected to assist in the general maintenance of the factory, preparation of formulations, transportation of staff from one place to another and ensuring the factory and its surrounding is in a tidy state at all times; and
General clerical duties including manning of the reception area and assisting customers.
