WORKSHOP MANAGER (Tenable in Lobatse) – GEAR MINING CONSTRUCTION (PTY) LTD

A vacancy exists for the following position tenable at our various operations within Botswana Mines and our Lobatse workshops:

WORKSHOP MANAGER (Tenable in Lobatse)

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/One-year Programme in Advanced Marketing Management from a recognised university
• Experience with Automate, ETKA, Multicat, MS Office
• Basic Experience in Electronics, Power Machines, Steel and Structure and Mechanical Techniques
• Experience in Inventory management, including amongst others, stockholding, ordering, obsolescence, ageing of parts
• Experience with Budget and budget administration
• At least 10 years as Parts Manager in a Mining, Earthmoving or Motor Trade Industry
• Previous work experience in any mining and/or construction industry of not less than 3 years will be an added advantage
• Ability’ to read /interpret engineering drawings and avoidance, claims management, Extension of time claims, variations, monthly payment applications and cash-flow monitoring
• Must have excellent understanding Re: Sub-contractor & Suppliers package management, payment certificates and final agreements
• Familiarity with SATCC, SABS, and a variety of standard systems

NB: In all the above, candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:

• Excellent Safety’, Health and Environmental (SHE) Knowledge
• Ability’ to develop a basic risk assessment and associated risk mitigation strategy
• Good understanding of the MQWM Act, Botswana
• Good understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Systems
