Tax Accountant

Responsibilites

Reporting to the Tax Supervisor, the resource should have the following capabilites:

1. Good understanding and working knowledge of Botswana tax legislation, returns and requirements.
2. Be able to prepare all Income tax. VAT & WHT returns
3. Be able to online register new clients with BURS system.
4. Draft & submit objections/appeals and liase with BURS officials on any tax assessment on a need basis.
5. Apply & obtain tax clearance certificates.
6. Be able to review all draft all annual financial statements & prepare the related tax computations
7. Estimate, advice and process SAT payments.

Qualifications

• Full AAT progress with a full professional qualification such as ACCA/ ACA/ BICA.
• A pass in ACCA Botswana Tax variant will be an added advantage.

Experience and Competencies

• Must have worked in a similar capacity with a professional service firm or with a tax authority for a minimum of 1 year
• Must be comfortable using BURS e-services portal in a submission of all tax returns
• Must have dealt with a variety of clients on wide ranging tax matters
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office application
