LPG DOCK SUPERVISOR CYLINDER FILLER 1 wanted at Afrox

A vacancy exists for position of Supervisor Filler based in Gaborone reporting to Operations Manager. This is a Team Leader position responsible for supervising activities at the gas filling dock. Key tasks: preparing and submitting reports ( safety, production etc) to management; Inspect and fill Liquified Petroleum Gas cylinders to ensure quality & conformance; perform depot supervisory & administrative tasks for Operations Department.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Ensure adherence to all gas filling procedures and polices.
• Placing decals on cylinder.
• Calibrating cylinder weighing scales.
• Report or inform management of any anomalies in the filling dock.
• Loading and offloading of cylinders
• Monitoring stock of empty cylinders and inform Operations Manager of any anomalies.
• Segregation and arrangement of gas cylinders according to the set processes
• Checking pressure on bulk tank and actual content of bulk tank and informing Operations Manager of any problems.
• Decanting of rail tankers
• Servicing of customers at LPG Filling dock and HP dock
• Conduct housekeeping at LPG cylinder filling stations.
• Fire-fighting team leader.
• Monitoring adherence to safety procedures in the yard.
• Recording “near-misses” and report to company Safety Representative.

Key skills and competencies required

The successful applicant should be in possession of a BGCSE, relevant Artisan Certificate. Computer literacy, customer focus, good communication skills and at least one-year work experience. A valid Code B driver’s license is essential, as Forklift driving is an added advantage. This position requires an efficient, dedicated and detail-oriented individual with knowledge of gas business as a prerequisite. Further competencies required include performance through people, information sharing and capability development.
