All Khoemacau team members are responsible for enforcing compliance with established SHEC Standards and procedures, therefore you must be familiar with the Mining Safety, Health and Environment requirements.

The positions are based at the Mine site between Maun and Sehithwa, therefore, you must have the interest and ability to work in remote regions in a context of a multicultural work environment While developing the first mechanised mine in Botswana, we offer a

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

BASIC FUNCTION OFTHE POSITION:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for coordinating organising, and overseeing all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, production, and distribution of the company’s goods. The role also collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain, and establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be responsible for

• Developing and implementing a supply chain programme, including procurement and logistics which enables optimum opportunity to achieve business and functional success, providing fluidity of stock at the right time, right place, right price as befits a mining operation.
• Developing and implementing policies, procedures and standards for: receiving, warehousing & distribution, operations and inventory management.
• Monitoring stock movement and levels and on-order situations with the objective of optimising economic commitments and funds whilst minimising out of stock situations with regards to sustaining production and thus maximising optimum warehouse efficiencies.
• Instituting, promoting and monitoring internal control, quality control, stock protection and disposal measures to deal with attractive, surplus, slow moving, obsolete and redundant items locally and overseas to achieve the best financial advantage to the Company.
• Controlling and monitoring local purchasing functions through the development and implementation of robust policies and procedures and operating guidelines, including an effective tender process for relevant purchases.
• Controlling and monitoring price/quantities, constantly reviewing activities and agreements in line with business objectives and budgets.
• Preparing, controlling and monitoring the departmental budgets ensuring the supply chain is organised to achieve its objectives in the most effective and economical way.
• Managing the budgets on an ongoing basis ensuring functional spend is in line with business operational/financial priorities whilst working in accordance with the Delegation of Authority policy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

• Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Bachelors degree in Business or related field preferred.
• Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Membership – Diploma level and above preferred
• Contract Management Qualification is an added advantage
• 8 years’ experience at a senior level within supply chain management of a complex/ matrix organization, and multi-site experience.
• Mining experience essential.
• Worked both strategically and operationally with a proven track record of achieving synergy throughout the full supply chain cycle.
