ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION SITE MANAGER

Requirements:

The applicant will be required to oversee and assist in the electrical and electronic installation of the New Palapye Water Treatment Plant which will include but not limited to the following disciplines:

• Medium Voltage (11 kV)
• Low Voltage (420V)
• Instrumentation (PH. Chlorine, NTU. Ultrasonic level and flow. Magflow meters)
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
• Human Machine Interface (HMI)
• Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
• Pre-commissioning of the above (Cold and Hot)
• Programming of the relevant equipment
• Loop testing of all circuits
• Motor Control Centers

The applicant must have the following experience and qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification with wireman’s license
• At least five years construction experience with working on potable water treatment plants
• PLC, SCADA and HMI operating knowledge
• Reading and understanding complete electrical and electronic wiring diagrams
• Experience in installing cable racks, cables (SWA and instrument cables), cable terminations, connections to Motor Control Centers and field equipment
• Experience in installing small power and lighting
• Experience in commissioning various Motor Control Centres including VSD’s, DOL starters with electronic overloads, relay logic circuits and ethernet communication
• Fibre optic cable installation with pigtails and testing

Management experience including:

• Project co-ordination
• Health and safety
• First aid
• Liaison with other parties (civil, mechanical, WUC, BPC and existing plant operators)
• Stock control
• Site administration including reporting, bill of quantity measurements etc.
• Attending site meetings
• Industrial relations
• Labour relation
