John Mackenzie School is an independent, co-educational, English medium school situated in Francistown, Botswana. The school which was established in 1899 has a rich 122 year old history with classes ranging from Pre-Primary to Form Six. Our educational programmes are run under the auspices of Cambridge Assessments International offering the Cambridge Checkpoint, IGCSE, Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced (A) Level examination courses.

HIGH SCHOOL POSTS

A vacancy will exist for a teacher of Biology with experience in delivering the Cambridge International IGCSE, AS and A level courses.

Applicants must have:

• A recognised teaching qualification
• Experience in teaching the Cambridge International IGCSE, AS and A level syllabuses.
• Experience coaching an activity from the school’s extensive extramural programme.

PRIMARY SCHOOL POSTS

Pre-Primary, Transition, Learner Support, Music & Standard 1 to Standard 7 teaching vacancies will exist in our Pre-Primary and Primary Schools. Applicants should hold at least a Diploma in Education from a recognised teacher training institution. Experience in teaching the Cambridge syllabuses at an English Medium Primary School will be an added advantage.

It is expected that all teachers will participate in the school’s extensive extramural programme.
