MARKETING OFFICER

An exciting opportunity for a passionate Marketing Officer has risen in our Botswana Offices to plan and oversee the organization’s marketing activities and campaigns. The individual will be responsible for all marketing operations and should be ready to travel to our offices across Africa

A successful Marketing officer must have great enthusiasm for all things marketing and great knowledge of digital marketing as well as relevant techniques and principles. The ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator and will have experience in managing different marketing ventures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

MARKETING

• Marketing Service Excellence Awards, Breakfast Meetings, Conferences and Workshops locally and regionally to ensure full subscriptions as per set target in various countries
• Generate a marketing plan and come up with an advertising schedule for all activities of the Institute.
• Engage all marketing tools to ensure members, stakeholders, potential delegates are always updated on upcoming events e.g. emails, bulk sms, website updates, social media posts and promotions, print advertising, company visits, television and radio
• Secure media partnership in radio, television and print media to publicize the Institute’s events
• Secure new membership for the Institute
• Encourage event attendees to follow and like our social media pages at the event to get maximum engagement.

ORGANISING & COORDINATING

• Come up with event activity plans and share allocated tasks to the team before event preparations start
• Identify key speakers, guest of honours, MC, adjudicators and targeted events partners and sponsors at the beginning of the year and send invitation letters.
• Book event venues, liaise with key suppliers and make necessary deposit payments for each event within the set timelines
• Send invitation letters to targeted delegates
• Coordinate the adjudication process
• Share event programme to attending delegates at least a week before each event
• Manage the event on the day to ensure a quality event and the programme is adhered to
• Liaise with accounts office for event reconciliations.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

• Respond to all digital, telephonic as well as walk in client’s queries
• Gain a comprehensive knowledge of the Institute’s full range of products and services to support customers through their entire life journey
• Maintain relationships with clients through the effective use of existing database by sending thank you cards, gifts, celebrating special days like birthdays with them and referrals to other Institute activities i.e. training, research etc.
• Ensure information is readily accessible when required in print and online
• Responsible for resolving all customer queries related to events

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a minimum degree in Marketing/Entrepreneurship
• Professional qualification in a marketing field is an added advantage
• Strong appreciation of digital marketing
• Have a valid Passport
• Be ready to travel and work beyond normal working hours if and when necessary
• Relevant work experience
