1. Health Education and Promotion Senior Lecturer x 1
2. Occupational Health and Safety Senior Lecturer x 1

Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to (i) train and educate undergraduate students in the Health Education and Promotion department, and Occupational Health and Safety department using and developing new and appropriate teaching method (ii) participate in all academic activities of the department (iii) serve on committees within the college and external professional organisations

• facilitate partnerships internally and externally
• Initiate, develop and establish research programmes with other staff in the department (vi) carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department

Competencies & Skills

Qualification & Experience:

Health Education and Promotion Senior Lecturer

The position requires

• Master of Public Health with industry and/or academic experience (PhD will be an added advantage)
• First Degree should be in Health Promotion/ Health Education/ Public Health
• BQA registration
• Membership to relevant professional body
• Credible track record

Competencies & Skills

Knowledge of curriculum design and its application to sound academic management, ability and skill in the design and application of methods for the evaluation of faculty and staff, ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing complex ideas and recommendations, ability to establish and monitor fiscal accountability within areas of responsibility. The candidates should have demonstrated research projects/training as well as conference presentation. The Candidates should have the ability to work with faculty, staff and students as well as community groups of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Health Education and Promotion Senior Lecturer

The position requires

• Masters degree in Occupational Health & Safety / Masters of Science in Safety Health & Environmental Management or any relevant Masters degree

• Atleast 5 years teaching experience at Tertiary Level
• Experience in conducting Public Health research, evidenced by minimum of 1 publication in peer reviewed journal, one of which, the incumbent should be first author

Qualification & Experience:

Occupational Health & Safety Senior Lecturer

The position requires

• Masters degree in Occupational Health & Safety / Masters of Science in Safety Health & Environmental Management or any relevant Masters degree
• BQA registration
• Membership to relevant professional body
• Credible track record
• Atleast 5 years teaching experience at Tertiary Level
