COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER (HEAD OFFICE)- BPS 33/2/2 Vol.1 (69)

Job Summary

To support communications objectives and plans; plan and implement external and internal communications initiatives.

The position reports to Communications Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy.

* Maintain records of media coverage, collate analytics and metrics.

* Write, edit and distribute content including press releases, reports, speeches and communications/public relations articles.

* Plans and coordinate corporate events.

* Assist with website content update, maintenance and communications audit.

* Maintains and monitors media and communications database (corporate events, corporate gifts and public relations activities

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS:

* A Degree in Business Communications/Public Relations or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

* A minimum of 3-5 years post qualification experience in Communications/Public Relations in a business-related environment.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

* Multiple media communications skills

* Report writing and editing skills

* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

* Good time management and organizational skills

* Knowledge of desktop publishing software (InDesign)

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Search engine optimization, content creation management systems and social media platforms
