LIQUOR MANAGER

Sefalana Cash & Carry, a leading distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in Botswana, has a job opportunity for a Liquor Manager. The vacancy is available at Sefalana Broadhurst, located in Gaborone.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• a Botswana General Certificate in Secondary Education (BGCSE) or an equivalent academic qualification. A higher academic qualification will be an added advantage.
• at least three (3) years’ work experience at a management level in a liquor trading business.
• a broad and deep understanding of liquor products/services and the current market trends.
• be passionate about customer recruitment and take initiative to seize sales opportunities.
• be able to supervise a team of subordinates and ensure that the team is effective/efficient.
• be able to analyze situations accurately and timely; and make suitable business decisions.
• a valid Class B driver’s license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• stimulate sales opportunities to ensure that the business unit (liquor) achieves sales targets.
• ensure that products are well displayed and uphold the highest house-keeping standards.
• monitor gross profit margins to ensure that the business is both competitive and profitable.
• supervise a team at liquor section to ensure that they perform their duties well and timely.
• ensure that the business unit always has stock – i.e product range to meet customer needs.
• ensure that there is adherence to laid down procedures to minimize stock losses (shrinkage)
• advise store management from time to time on initiatives that may grow the entire business.
• build relations with customers and attend to customer queries/complaints timely and fairly.
