VACANCY: PRINCIPAL MEDICAL OFFICER X2 POSTS TENABLE AT THEBEPHATSHWA AND MOGODITSHANE

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 1 OF 2021

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and competent candidates to join BDF Non-Uniformed Personnel for the following positions:

Qualifications: University Degree in Medicine.

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years’ experience as Senior Medical Officer on D3 salary scale or equivalent.

Salary: D2 (P291, 108 – P321,012) per annum

Scarce skill

Allowance: 40% of basic monthly salary as prescribed by DPSM

Doctors

Overtime allowance:15% of basic monthly salary as prescribed by DPSM

Private Practice

Allowance: 10% of basic monthly salary

Housing and  upkeep Allowance: P309 per month

Leave: 30 working days per annum.

Job Purpose: Coordinate the provision of preventative, curative and rehabilitative health care services in the Botswana Defence Force

Key Performance Areas:

1. Manage the implementation of health care policies and procedure to ensure compliance to legislation.
2. Provide timely clinical health services to patients to ensure quality health care.

III. Provide health education and counseling to the BDF community to improve health and prevent diseases.

1. Establish links with a range of primary and secondary health care providers and develop initiatives to enable patient-centric, coordinated care that meets the needs of individuals.
2. Manage the implementation of quality improvement efforts to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance to highest standards of quality and service.
3. Manage and guide junior Medical Officers to ensure skills transfer and effective and efficient healthcare service

VII. Develop an emergency response plan for effective and efficient emergency response
