Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a Soda Ash and Salt producing Company situated at Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. Employees and their families live in Sowa Town, about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts of recreational facilities, which include restaurant, tennis, squash, swimming and golf. There is also an excellent English medium pre-primary, primary and secondary school as well as public primary and junior secondary schools.

JOB SUMMARY

To provide excellent customer service by ensuring timeous placing, shunting of wagons, admission and dispatch of trains within the yard in accordance with Botswana Ash Safety and Shunting Procedures and Regulations to meet Company business obligations.

Key Performance areas:

• Shunting and marshalling of trains
• Ensuring handover procedures are correctly implemented when passing goods on to other workers.
• Adhering to strict health and safety guidelines
• Facilitate and control safe movement of trains along designated lines.

REQUIREMENTS

• O’ Level Certificate
• At least Six months shunting and wagons control certificate from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of five years railway shunting and wagon control experience.
