OPERATIONS MANAGER: PRODUCTION

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Industrial Engineering. Production Manufacturing and/or Operations Management in a Dairy Manufacturing environment
• High level of computer literacy
• Experience with FSSC 22000 certification in a dairy factory
• At least 10 years applicable experience in dairy manufacturing
• Good communication and effective management/leadership skills
• Thorough knowledge of fresh milk, cultured milk. UHT mlk. and juice processing
• In depth knowledge of mini business concepts (best practices/ continuous improvement programs)
• Ability to build cohesive teams
• Must be prepared to work irregular hours if required
• Knowledge of ELKE. MRP and Maintenance programs
• Assertive and result driven individual

JOB SUMMARY

• Manage all activities of the Production Plant in Gaborone (Milk Procurement. Quality. Laboratory, Engineering, Logistics and Production)
• Ensure production of quality products
• High level communication with internal and external customers/suppliers
• Oversee the Production Schedule/Plans to ensure adequate market supply
• Compile and strictly manage Fixed and Variable Cost Budgets
• Ensure optimal productivity and efficiency levels at all times
• Effective Project Management
• Manage Production Plant according to SHEQ, Food Safety and Occupational Safety legislation
• Manage optimal procurement of raw materials and ensure a proper stock control system
• Manage the training and development of personnel
