DEPUTY DIRECTOR (DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY)- E2 X 1

Applications arc invited from talented, decisive and self-driven qualified citizens of Botswana to fill the above vacancy tenable at the Ministry of Transport and Communications on a 24-36 months contract

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To manage and coordinate Information Technology Services for Government including research, planning, development monitoring and evaluation of policies, strategies and standards

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Coordinate integration of all IT systems within government
• Monitor existing systems through report produced by Head of divisions and through meetings with customers.
• Increase access to ICT services by expanding the existing infrastructure.
• Provide ICT advice to Mimstnes/Departments.
• Monitor progress of ICT projects from inception, development and implementation.
• Ensure IT systems Audits.
• Ensure return on Investment
• Drives the development of the Department strategy.
• Provide effective use of ICT services within Government
• Manage customer service surveys.
• Act as an ICT technical advisor to Director.
• Undertake any other related duties as may be assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Information Technology or related qualification.

EXPERIENCE: At Least 14 years’ work experience in Information Technology or related field, two years of which should have been at DI or its equivalence.

SALARY SCALE: E2 (P388,080 – P403 776) per annum.

LEAVE: 30 Working days per annum

BENEFITS:

• Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme with the Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS), Government contributes 50% and employee contributes 50%.
