The Competition and Consumer Authority (CCA) was established by the Competition Act, 2018 for the implementation of the Competition Act, 2018 and the Consumer Protection Act, 2018. The reviewed Acts resulted in the integration of the functions of the Competition and Consumer Protection unit to the new Authority and hence the new name. The Authority is the primary enforcement agency for Competition Law and Consumer Protection Law. The Authority is responsible for the prevention of, and redress for anti-competitive practices in the economy, the removal of constraints on the free play of competition in the market; and the protection of Consumers by means of investigation, prohibition and control of unfair business practices. The position will report to the Strategy and Risk Manager and will be responsible for assisting in driving the strategic planning process, providing strategy implementation support to management and monitoring all strategic projects to meet the objectives of the CCA. This also involves assisting in implementing business processes reengineering which will enhance efficiency and the development of a high performance culture within the organisation.
The Job
The incumbent will be responsible for, among others, the following:
- Assisting in developing, reviewing and effective implementation of the CCA Strategic Plan.
- Assisting in overall organisational performance.
- Reviewing of Departmental performance scorecards and review reports.
- Implementing corporate performance measurement instruments. The Person
The right candidate will possess the following;
- At least five (5) years’ experience in a strategy planning and corporate performance management and improvement role.
- A Degree in Social Science, and Business related fields.
