ROLE PURPOSE

• The role ensures De Beers’ assortments and accurate valuations provide maximum value to DBGSS and their partners, whilst providing consistent and accurate diamond sorting expertise to all DBGSS stakeholders. The job holder is required to apply deep technical or specialist expertise to analyse diamond assortments and data, anticipate and diagnose product performance issues and provide solutions aimed at the improvement of assortments, processes and systems that meet internal and external customer requirements.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• 10 years extensive rough diamond sorting experience and skills with deep knowledge of De Beers assortment and standards.
• Knowledge and experience in 2-10cts, 6-3grn and -3gr of De Beers assortment and/or demonstrate clear understanding and ability to adapt rough diamond assortments across all sizes.
• Excellent focus and understanding of stakeholder needs with the ability to deliver beneficial insights based on assortment, process and knowledge.
• Good knowledge of De Beers/ DBGSS Pipeline and PDTC operational processes and systems used.
• Demonstrate good relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrate experience of assortment and process management.
• Ability to operate Techsort equipment is an advantage as well as new technologies available.
• Rough to Polished (RTOP) valuations skills an added advantage.

QUALIFICATION

• BGCSE in numeracy, literacy and English language.
• Proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity.
