To provide dedicated relationship management to a portfolio of Business Banking customers. This requires the jobholder to be able to operate under pressure, always maintaining a professional and helpful approach and achieve challenging sales and service targets.
Main accountabilities
- Responsible for providing customers with essential information and advice, enabling them to achieve their business and personal objectives by offering time saving and added value solutions and service.
- Proactively identify and respond to servicing opportunities for own portfolio of customers, seeking to exceed agreed minimum service standards.
- Successfully manage the resolution of all non-routine queries and complaints for own portfolio of customers.
- Work closely with risk management to achieve prompt and effective lending applications
- Build a network of contacts, driving proactive business development within the wider community, developing new business.
- Primary responsibility for the management of own portfolio of customers ensuring that they receive the appropriate level of service and advice to meet their specified needs.
- Maintain a high standard of operational control including adherence to Risk Management guidelines, KYC procedures and other bank policies.
- Promote alternative delivery channels, sign-posting other internal products and services.
- Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external Stakeholders including industry bodies, key individuals and non-Covernment organisations.
- Represent Absa Bank of Botswana at marketing events with other role players, Private Sector and other organisations in area of responsibility.
- Manage and maintain cordial relationships with Coverage and all other Key Stakeholders.
- Support other Bank colleagues by building their knowledge and understanding of Small Business customers, products and services through the delivery of formal and ad hoc training and coaching
- Good working knowledge of core Corporate products and services that will be offered to Business Banking customers, including money transmission and Electronic Banking products and services.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of wider Bank issues and policies, particularly those relating to Business Banking customers.
- Detailed understanding of relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of risk appraisal and control procedures relating to Business Banking and an understanding of the Risk procedures used in Business Banking (ICA).
Education and experience required
- Business degree Experience
- At least 8 years work experience of which 5 years of Relationship Management/Sales environment at a management level
