DRONE PILOTS (x2 positions) – Unitrans Botswana

Unitrans Botswana, requires the services of experienced Botswana citizens for the following vacant positions which are tenable in Pandamatenga. The incumbents will be expected to carry out their duties in a safe, secure and economic manner in total compliance with legal and operational requirements.

1. 2 X DRONE PILOTS

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will have at least 2 years experience in flying a drone for aerial mapping and surveying and must be able to lift about 20kg.

A sound knowledge and understanding of drones, airspace and air traffic aviation rules , radio, weather, data types and concepts, chemicals and agronomy as well as proficiency in english language will be essential.

A holder of BGCSE or related field, a remote pilot licence and possess the following competencies and attributes

Planning and organising resources, controlling utilisation of resources and operational activities Communication, problem solving , time management skills Analytical thinker, handling conflict, valuing diversity and team player

The ability to prepare and conduct presentations, compile reports, build and maintain relations and handling complaints is essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Operate drones

Analyse weather focasts to ensure safe flights Plan the drone flight routes

Check drone flight to ensure safe and proper operation

Document pre and post flight logs

Monitor drones during the flight

Navigate the drones along the designated paths

Fly the drone over the specific field to gather data, spray fields with seeds, fertilizers, or pesticides

Fly over fields to map , study the fields or area

Daily checks on equipment and ensure quality of drone work

Ensures compliance with flight regulations

Upload and analyse data gathered in the system

Ensure proper care and maintanance of the drone by the ground crew and troubleshoot equipment issues. Ensure and maintain execeptional customer relationship and comply with company code of conduct, policies and procedures.

Applicants must be accredited licenced pilots in possession of valid Botswana passports.
