Assistant Laboratory Analyst – MP Mining

Job Description

• Prepare samples (geology, exploration, test work, production control, dispatch and accounting samples) for accurate analysis according to standard procedure, by weighing, fusing and dissolving
• Conduct quantitative analysis of samples using appropriate techniques and instruments (AA, NCS C/S analyzer) to determine content of various elemental compositions of submitted samples
• Clean glassware and laboratory analytical instruments such as AA and NCS C/S analyser to ensure analysis efficiency
• Calibrate instruments as per procedure, and checks for accuracy by use of quality control samples.
• Determine sample dilution factors to fit the sample concentration to calibration standards range
• Perform mathematical/analytical calculations on produced raw data for final analytical results, using standard formulae
• Compile the results into Assay sheets, and captures them in the computer and submits to

supervisor where appropriate

• Analyse and checks results for QC conformance before reporting, as per laid down QC procedure

Job Requirements

• BGCSE with passes in Mathematics and Science or Equivalent
• At least 3 years experience in an Analytical Laboratory
