Senior Advisory Accountant

Job Description

Our Client is looking for a Senior Advisory Accountant to join their team in Gaborone, with an excellent understanding of accounting. Prospective candidates who will expand with them and help them enhance an already prominent accounting firm in Botswana. The candidates should be interested in a meaningful career and making a positive difference to our client’s organisation and the country’s economy.

Our Clients Accounting Services Section is expanding and already is one of the largest independent accounting firms in Botswana. Their clients need you to advise them and help them with their financial accounting reporting and to assist them with getting to their next level.

With offices in Gaborone, Francistown, Ghanzi, Kasane and Maun, our client has a wide range of clients situated throughout Botswana who rely on them and trust them to provide them excellent accounting services and advice.

Key requirements include but are not limited to the following:

• Have previously worked within a professional advisory accounting organisation at a middle to senior level – Non-negotiable requirement.
• Be able to process financial information, using source documentation, through to trial balance, prepare draft financial statements and discuss these with a wide range of clients.

• Be growth orientated and able to get amazing results from a diverse and talented team.

• Be organised, a clear communicator both within our organisation and with our clients, a team player, a problem solver and able to work well under pressure.

• Be self-motivated, detail orientated and be able to successfully co-ordinate and track numerous tax matters.

• Be able to efficiently delegate work to, and then monitor the work of those reporting to the successful candidate.

• Have an excellent understanding of accounting principles and how to apply these.

• Be almost/fully ACCA/CIMA/CA qualified and a member of BICA
• Have a good working knowledge of:

• IFRS, Botswana tax legislation and the Botswana Companies Act
• Microsoft Office, mainly: Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams

• Preference will be given to Botswana Citizens and salary will be linked to experience and qualification.

• Successful candidates may be required to produce a credit report and a police clearance
