Control & Instrumentation Mechanician – MP Mining

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Control and Instrumentation Engineer, the Control & Instrumentation Mechanician is responsible for;

• Installing, testing, maintaining, fault finding and repair of instruments and control systems
• Programming and configuration of microprocessor-based equipment (PLCs, DCS,smart device) including loop checks and optimization
• Performing complex repairs or removal of instruments or devices such as control valves, solenoid valves and positioners, needing overhaul during scheduled maintenance and shutdowns
• Performing calibration activities on in-situ and external metering equipment, sensors and transmitters in accordance with calibration schedules.
• Maintaining telemetry software and hardware
• Inspecting, evaluating and determining necessary modifications
• Reading, interpreting and creating P&IDs and E&I (wiring) diagrams
• Performing plant startup,
• Providing technical and operational direction
• Carrying out incident and hazard investigations to identify and eliminate root causes

Requirements

• NCC in Instrumentation
• At least 3 years work experience
• Experience in copper floatation control loops
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Valid Class B driving license
