SUPPLY CLERK – The U.S. Embassy, in Gaborone

VACANCY

The U.S. Embassy, in Gaborone is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Supply Clerk (Expendable) position based in Gaborone:
Supply Clerk (Expendable): FSN-6; Gaborone-2024-015 (PI 72,814 Starting salary per year + benefits).

Duties:

Supervised by the Property Management Supervisor, this position manages the expendable supplies warehouse, with the duties of receiving, storing, safeguarding, and issuing expendable supply items. Ensures monthly US dollar figures & stock usage reports are forwarded to Financial Management Office. Provides expendable supply support to all American Embassy serviced agencies.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Education: Completion of secondary school and technical school required (Certificate in Property Management and Supply) is required.

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:

Three years of progressively responsible supply experience, of which at least one year has been in the supply program of an Embassy or related business, is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of supply, warehouse, and disposal procedures and regulations

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:
Level IV (Fluency) speaking/reading/writing of English is required. Level IV (Fluency) speaking/reading/writing of Setswana is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be able to direct and supervise supply functions efficiently. Must be tactful and effective in dealing with American personnel and their spouses about household supplies and equipment. Must have a valid driver’s license class B with a clean driving record and have experience operating a forklift. In addition to standard Microsoft Office package, must demonstrate proficiency in MyServices, as well as ILMS Asset Management, Expendables, Final Receipt, Loanable Property, and Ariba modules.
