ODC is a principal supplier to the sector with sales in the region of $500 million per annum representing the largest source of guaranteed Botswana production in the diamond industry. Manager – Security Operations

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Senior Manager: Security, the position will be responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of security to ensure the protection of assets, personnel, and sensitive information related to the diamond industry. In addition, the incumbent will implement and maintain security protocols, conduct risk assessments, as well as ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

The Job:

The incumbent will be responsible for, among others, the following:
•Ensuring compliance with Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Precious and Semi-Precious Stones Act, implementing strategies to prevent theft, conducting regular security audits, and ensuring secure transport and handling of diamonds.
•Overseeing and implementing security measures for the safe, accurate, and timely shipment of goods during import and export, manage security protocols during the movement of diamonds, and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
•Enforcing security measures to protect individuals and property within the premises, adhering to a four-step security process (detecting, deterring, observing, and reporting), and reducing unauthorised access attempts.
•Conducting comprehensive risk assessments, overseeing regular audits, and implementing effective security measures.
•Promoting a high-performance culture, implementing performance and talent management, developing and training teams, and overseeing the deployment of systems and tools.
•Maintaining strategic relationships with key stakeholders, fostering effective communication, and projecting a positive corporate brand image.
•Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, resolving statutory and regulatory compliance requirements, and managing identified risks.
•Managing resources effectively, input into budgeting, institute cost control measures, and maintaining financial control.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management.
•Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in security management, including three (3) years in a management role.
