Logistics Officer – Dynamic Road Services

Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Officer to join our freight and logistics company. The Logistics Officer will be responsible for tracking fuel consumption and maintaining road and vehicle permits and licenses. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent record-keeping abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

The Logistics Officer will be responsible for the following key tasks:

1. Tracking Fuel Consumption:
Keep accurate records of all receipts and issues of fuel products on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis;
Implement a robust tracking system to monitor fuel consumption and identify any discrepancies or inefficiencies;
Analyse fuel consumption data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve fuel management;

2. Maintaining Road and Vehicle Permits and Licenses:
Ensure that all vehicles are licensed and roadworthy in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements;
Monitor and renew road permits and vehicle licenses as necessary;
Maintain up-to-date documentation and records related to road and vehicle permits and licenses;

3. Compliance:
Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to fuel consumption and permits/licenses;
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements regarding fuel management, road permits, and vehicle licenses;
Develop and implement processes and procedures to mitigate compliance risks;

4. Reporting and Documentation:
Compile daily, weekly, and monthly fuel balance sheets into the Fleet Management System;
Prepare accurate and timely reports on fuel consumption, maintenance activities, and compliance status;
Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation related to fuel consumption, permits/licenses, and fleet management;

Qualifications and Experience

A tertiary qualification in Transport/Logistics Management or a related field;
2 – 3 years demonstrable experience in road freight/logistics or similar industry;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Excellent record-keeping and documentation abilities;
Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite;
Knowledge of transportation regulations and international trade practices;
