Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer, the Ventilation Officer is responsible for the maintenance of ventilation and occupational hygiene systems, controlling and monitoring all underground mine ventilation requirements in order to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Diploma in Mining/Mechanical Engineering/Occupational Hygiene.
• Certificate in Mine Environmental Control.
• Minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience in an underground mining environment with practical experience in the underground ventilation field.
• Knowledge of ventilation simulation modelling software (Ventsim or Vuma)
• Knowledge of SHE management systems (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001)
• Class B driver’s licence.
• MS Office proficiency
