Assistant Laboratory Analyst – MP Mining

Job description:

• Analyse samples (geology, exploration, test work, production control, dispatch and accounting samples) for accurate analysis according to standard procedure, by weighing, fusing, dissolution etc.
• Conduct quantitative analysis of samples using appropriate techniques and instruments (XRF,AAS, NCS C/S analyser, ISE etc) to determine content of various elemental compositions in samples.
• Able to do minor laboratory analytical instruments maintenance such as XRF, AAS and NCS C/S analyser to ensure analysis efficiency.
• Calibrate instruments as per procedure and checks for accuracy by use of quality control samples.
• Determine sample dilution factors to fit the sample concentration to calibration standards range
• Perform mathematical/analytical calculations on produced raw data for final analytical results, using standard formulae
• Compile the results into Assay sheets, and captures them in the computer and submits to

supervisor where appropriate

• Analyse and checks results for QC conformance before reporting, as per laid down QC procedure.

Requirements:

• BGCSE with passes in Mathematics and Science/Chemistry Diploma
• At least 5-years’ experience in a Base Metal Analytical Laboratory
