OPERATIONS MANAGER – Botswana Experience

Operations Manager – Maun, Botswana

Your responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Meet and greet guests, conduct tour briefings, and ensure a seamless start to their safari experience.
• Prepare and oversee tours, including budgeting and operational planning.
• Be available 24/7 to address and resolve any challenges during tours.
• Supervise vehicle maintenance, registration, and related administrative tasks.
• Train and mentor tour guides to enhance their skills and performance.

Knowledge & Expertise:

• Strong understanding of tour operations and company management through education or work experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the culture, wildlife, flora, and history of Southern Africa, with a focus on Botswana.
• In-depth experience in fleet management and vehicle maintenance.
• Mechanical expertise, particularly with Toyota Land Cruisers, is advantageous.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Fluent in written and spoken English (additional languages, such as German, are a plus).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure, especially in emergency situations.

Technical & System Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with booking and operations systems is an advantage.

Your Experience:

• Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role within the travel or tourism industry.
• Experience working in an international matrix organization is a plus.
• Background in tour guiding is advantageous.
