The positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland. PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

To support Pharmacists in ensuring the safe and accurate preparation, dispensing, and management of medications. They help with prescription processing, medication inventory management, patient education, and administrative tasks, all while adhering to regulations and maintaining patient safety.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

• Accurately counting and dispensing medications to patients.
• Ensuring medications are stored and handled according to pharmacy protocols.
• Monitoring medication stock levels and ensuring timely reordering of supplies.
• Checking expiration dates regularly and managing and ensuring monthly stock taking is done
• Providing patients with medication information, dosage instructions, and potential side effects.
• Following all pharmacy policies, regulations, and safety protocols to ensure compliance.

• Adhering to privacy and security measures regarding patient data and medication records.
• Staying updated on pharmacy laws and regulations to ensure operations are fully compliant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

• Diploma in Pharmacy from recognised Institution
• Minimum of (5) years working experience as a pharmacy Technician
• Registered with Botswana Health professional Council
• Pharmaceutical Knowledge
• Regulatory knowledge
