The positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland. CLERK OF WORKS

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Clerk of Works will ensure quality assurance, the timely intervention of technical issues, and oversee the delivery of the construction project work in accordance with the Client’s requirements. The Clerk of Works (C.O.W) is expected to check that projects plans are being followed correctly and the technical specifications complied with, inspect the workmanship and quality of work at the construction site, monitor compliance with health, safety, environmental and social safeguards on-site, and report back to the Management Team and or the Mechanical / Project Engineer.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

• Inspecting materials, workmanship and construction processes to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications.
• Ensuring that construction activities adhere to relevant regulations, codes, and guidelines set by authorities and the client.
• Acting as a liaison between contractors, subcon-tractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to convey project requirements and ensuring smooth coordination.
• Monitoring construction progress, identifying de-lays, and reporting on project milestones to ensure timely completion.
• Promoting and enforcing safety standards on the construction site to prevent accidents and ensuring a secure working environment for all workers
• Identifying and documenting defects or incomplete work (snags) for rectification before project handover.

• Assisting in the project handover process by verifying that all work is completed as er specifications and facilitating any necessary documentation.
• Engaging all stakeholders as deemed and as per the project ESIAS/Environmental Management Plans, overarching strategy, 16 elements EMP & ESG Framework

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 (five) years on a specific project of similar nature and complexity within Mining Industry
• General working experience of at least 5 (five) years in the construction industry
• Specific experience of at least 5 (five) years on a specific project of similar nature and complexity within Mining Industry
• Should have adequate knowledge of site practice, building, and construction technology.

• Should be able to Coordinate & manage the Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures in area of responsibility as well as compliance to the statutory requirements such as stipulated in the Mines, Works, Quarries, and Machinery Act. (MWQM)
• Should be familiar with Conditions of Contract
• Proficiency in MS office suite
