Simolola Drilling Services (SDS) is a leading provider of drilling services in the Exploration, Mining, Energy, and Government sectors. SDS is a partnership with Mitchell Drilling International, an internationally recognized drilling company. Founded in support of Botswana’s Government Citizen Economic Empowerment policy, the company is now looking to fill the following position to be based in Botswana.

Key Responsibilities:

The Nominal Director’s duties will include (but not limited to) the following:
• Attend Directors’ meetings and meetings of shareholders of the Company.
• Represent the Company in appropriate forums as required.
• Lead negotiations concerning commercial transactions on behalf of the Company.
• Liaise with current clients regarding safety and operational issues in alignment with their requirements.
• Develop and implement alternative equity and business structures for the Company’s existing business units and entrepreneurial initiatives.
• Manage Exploration and Drilling contracts.
• Ensure cost control measures are in place and projects are completed within budget.
• Analyze, evaluate, and optimize existing and new business opportunities within Botswana.
• Formulate and implement strategies for the development of Simolola Drilling Services (Pty) Ltd.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Drilling, Exploration, and Mining industries.
• Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting.
• Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Auditing.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Law.
• Certificate of Membership in Chartered Accountant.
Experience and Background Preference:
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in business areas related to drilling, exploration, and mining.
