The successful incumbent must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this Post
• Have a Form 5 Academical /Technical equivalent Secondary Education.
• Have completed a Heavy Plant Apprenticeship in Heavy Plant / Diesel Mechanics with a red seal.
• Have a minimum of 25 years post Apprenticeship experience in the heavy plant industry.
• Have a minimum of 10 years technical management experience in the heavy plant industry.
• Have a minimum of 10 years supervisory experience in a workshop environment.
• Experience in the Bell and Liebherr Product range of Earthmoving Equipment
• Have a clear understanding of the (OEM) Original Equipment Manufacturers Operation.
• It is imperative that the incumbent is computer literate i.e. internet, e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Leadership qualities are essential to this position as this position deals primarily with people and getting the most out of each individual.
• Needs to have overseen and managed various Contracts’ costings and has had to achieve the targeted costs and savings as per the Operating Plan.
Key Performance/Duties for this position will entail
• To build the Company brand in Botswana as the market leader in Customer Product Support.
• To implement systems to manage After-Sales efficiencies.
• To control all processes pertaining to Warrantees.
• To control all aspects pertaining to the financial side of the Workshop/Contracts operations.
• To be responsible for Fleet Management within the contract
• To controlling all aspects pertaining to Health and Safety including all requisite training
• To ensure and manage the departmental gross margin as per the Annual Operating Plan. To control and ensure that the budget objectives are achieved by monitoring key elements such as turnover, capex, WIP, repeat work; labour efficiencies, warranty claims, and campaign
• To drive market share and profitability
• To ensure that there is total compliance of the Service Contract and that all relevant dialogue is communicated to the Company
• To ensure that there is a high standard of aftersales service and customer wellbeing
• To control all aspects related to technical and vocational training so as to ensure that all staff are capable and have the required skills. Team building and skills transfer are also important elements to be addressed in this regard.
• To ensure that all administrative requirements are met and adhered to, namely Employment Contracts, discipline, Policies, Timekeeping, Leave, Invoicing, Accommodation, Allowances etc.
