Interested candidates are invited to apply for the position of Senior Investment Consultant. The individual will join a team reporting to the Principal Investment Consultant.

The Role

Assisting institutional investors with performance monitoring, the setting of their investment strategies, selection of asset managers, assessing investment products, performing general research related to investment and providing investment related advice to medical aid fund, retirement funds etc. Providing a professional, quality service and consulting advice to clients.

Qualifications/ Experience

Undergraduate Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or Actuarial Science
• 5 years’ financial service experience required
• Client facing/consulting experience will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of the investment management industry, global economic environment is not a prerequisite but would be an added advantage.
• Candidates must also be prepared to undertake further studies leading to investment related professional qualifications (CIPM, CAlA or similar).

Knowledge & Skills

Must be fluent in both Setswana and English (spoken, written and read)
Strong analytical skills
• Knowledge of investment management industry and global economic environment
• Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook Behavioural competencies
• Deadline driven and reliable
Ability to work under high pressure (high stress tolerance)
• Ability to work with both people and data
• Accuracy/ attention to detail
• Extremely self-motivated and confident
• Ability to work independently

Additional Inherent Requirements

• Working overtime and additional travelling required
• Driver’s license and own transport will be an added advantage
