1. Introduction Pulamed (“Fund”) invites expressions of interest from interested and suitable candidates to be considered for appointment as Independent Trustees to the Board of Trustees of the Fund.

2. Fund History Established in 1991 as Pula Medical Aid Fund, Pulamed is a not-for-profit open medical aid fund, registered as a Trust and regulated by the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA). Pulamed was originally registered in terms of notarial deed of trust: MA 22/91 and was subsequently re-registered under the Trust Property Control Act bearing

Responsibilities

of the Board of Trustees Rule 28.3 of the Pulamed Fund Rules reads as follows:

“28.3 In addition to the responsibilities set out in the Deed of Trust, the Board of Trustees shall: 28.3.1 exercise their powers in accordance with the requirements of any legislation and the Rules of the Fund. 28.3.2 exercise their powers honestly in good faith, in the best interest of the Fund and for the respective purposes for which such powers are explicitly or implicitly conferred. 28.3.3 exercise the degree and care, diligence and skill in the furtherance of the Fund’s objectives. 28.3.4 not make use of or disclose any confidential information received by them on behalf of the Fund other than as may be permitted by law. 28.3.5 attend meetings of the Board of Trustees”

Further, Trustees would, depending on their qualifications, skills and expertise; be appointed to one or more of the Sub-Committees of the Board.
