QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should have a Degree in Accounting or qualified ACCA/CIMA/BICA (part qualified) qualification with 3-5 yrs in accounting or audit department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Will be the main point of contact with internal and external auditors during the external audit

• Preparation of monthly management accounts in line with IFRS/IAS.

• Provide strategic financial advice and decision support to leadership.

• Mentor and manage the finance team.

• Weekly back up of Server.

• Weekly and Monthly stock takes & reconciliation to the GL.

• Maintaining fixed asset register and reconciling it to the General Ledger.

• Maintaining debtors age analysis & following up on outstanding debtors’ payments.

• Maintaining foreign creditors age analysis and preparing payment requisitions for outstanding creditors.

• Must thoroughly understand foreign translation standards e.g. IAS 21.

• Must be able to effectively communicate with suppliers & debtors verbally or written.

• Petty cash safe-keeping, recording & reconciliation to the ledger.

• Cash sales reconciliation.

• Ensure operating effectiveness of controls that prevent and/or detect material misstatements due to fraud or error.

• Review policies & procedures and advise management on recommendations.

CAPABILITIES

Candidate should possess:

• Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint

• Knowledge of IFRS/IAS, Botswana tax laws, VAT Act, Employment ACT and other relevant laws & regulations

• Strong leadership skills

• Maintain team good work

• Commitment to innovative solutions

• Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines

• Good communication skills

• Have a valid driver’s License

• Added advantage: use of Sage Pastel and Caseware software
